Spalding Barn Blaze: Youths Bolt as ‘Significant’ Inferno Breaks Out

A gaggle of young individuals was spotted scarpering from the site of a major barn blaze. The barn, located on Monks House Lane in Spalding, was reported ablaze shortly before 5pm on Sunday, 30th of March. Lincolnshire’s finest were alerted to the fleeing youths, and a fleet of fire engines rushed to the fiery scene, indicating this was no ordinary bonfire. An ongoing police investigation into the blaze was announced with an update from Kirton Fire Station at 4:50pm, stating ‘Four appliances and one aerial ladder platform are currently battling the barn fire. We advise locals to keep windows and doors shut.’ The force further appealed for public assistance via their website at 11:30am on Monday, 31st of March, saying, ‘We are seeking information after a barn on Monks House Lane, Spalding, was reported aflame. We received word of the fire at 4:58pm yesterday (30 March). We have information indicating youths fled the scene. This was a serious fire, with multiple fire engines called in. We urge anyone with mobile phone, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area at that time to contact us. Any detail, no matter how seemingly insignificant, could be crucial in identifying the culprits.
