The Lincoln Steampunk Festival once again transformed the historic city into a spectacle of Victorian heritage, science fiction, and imaginative creativity during the Bank Holiday weekend. The organisers estimate that between 85,000 to 100,000 visitors travelled globally to partake in the festivities, marking one of the most successful events since its inception in 2009. John Naylor, the festival’s orchestrator, excitedly revealed the forthcoming grand parade on Monday, which is set to be one of the event’s main attractions. Participants and onlookers take pleasure in showcasing their imaginative flair with Victorian-themed attire accompanied by futuristic adaptations, paying tribute to the unique fusion of British individuality epitomised by Steampunk. Despite initial apprehensions regarding repositioning the event due to its swelling popularity, the festival maintains its cherished position in Lincoln, attracting an international community to the city at the heart of Lincolnshire.
