Solar Farm in Little Hale Approved After Appeal

A landmark advancement in renewable energy for Lincolnshire has been ratified with the approval of a solar farm, located south of Little Hale Drove. The endorsement follows an appeal challenging North Kesteven District Council’s original rejection brought about by apprehensions surrounding farmland conservation. The massive 77-hectare project, driven by AGR Solar 3 Ltd, aims to generate approximately 50MW of electricity – an amount sufficient to electrify a town the size of Sleaford. Despite earlier dissension, a government planning inspector supported the solar farm, citing its transient nature and the indispensable need for renewable energy. Council development manager, Nick Feltham, offered assurances that the land’s agricultural integrity would be preserved after the project’s culmination. He emphasised that the solar panels could be dismantled, enabling the land to reconvert to farming use. This resolution constitutes a remarkable stride in Lincolnshire’s renewable energy endeavours.
