Residents in South Kesteven are being invited to express their views on the best ways for the district council to aid low-income households with their council tax. As part of an evaluation of its Council Tax Support Scheme, the South Kesteven District Council is welcoming feedback on how to adjust bills depending on income and variables such as family size. The council is also looking to retain exemptions for special constables and those exiting the care system. Council leader Ashley Baxter highlighted the significance of directing assistance to those most in need and is welcoming suggestions from residents, community groups, and industry professionals. The consultation will also collect opinions on the Discretionary Payment Scheme, an initiative designed to temporarily ease the burden of those struggling with council tax payments. Residents have until 30 September to partake in the online survey.
