Barton-upon-Humber man jailed for robbery at Hull bus stop

Two individuals have been sentenced to imprisonment for robbing adolescents at a bus stop in Hull, using a knife. Dawson Phillips-Burns, a 22-year-old resident of West Acridge, Barton-upon-Humber, committed the crime last August with the aid of Ben Sharp, a 20-year-old man from Doncaster. The incident occurred on Tilbury Road, Hull, with Phillips-Burns and Sharp arriving in a silver Ford Focus. Concealing their faces, the pair stole personal items from a brother aged 18 and sister aged 16. Evidence presented in court revealed Sharp brandished a knife, while Phillips-Burns attempted to take the boy’s bag. Phillips-Burns was found to be in possession of the boy’s bank card after their capture. Authorities also found a stolen wallet, a bag of metal ball bearings, and a knife in their vehicle. Sharp was tied to the knife through fingerprint evidence. Together, the pair received a sentence of six years and 10 months at Hull Crown Court. Lead detective, Det Con Ross Patterson, recounted satisfaction in seeing Phillips-Burns and Sharp face justice, highlighting the force’s commitment to reducing violent crime.
