Boston Borough Council Staff to Receive Body Cameras for Safety

Boston Borough Council’s workforce will be provided with body cameras in the following months as part of an initiative to bolster safety and deter aggressive behaviour. The council stressed that these devices are intended as a preventative measure and will be used in situations which are deemed lawful and necessary. The Boston Borough Council leader, Dale Broughton, stated, “The safety and protection of our officers is our duty.” This measure is part of a policy launched by the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership and is due for enforcement in Boston in the near future.
