North Lincolnshire Launches ‘One-stop’ Antenatal Sessions for Expectant Mothers

North Lincolnshire is initiating new ‘One-stop’ antenatal sessions for expecting mothers. The Nest and Nurture Fairs, set to be held in North Lincolnshire’s maternity units, offer crucial information and support to not just expectant mothers, but also their families.

These sessions aim to provide guidance and advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy, involving insights on a balanced diet and maintaining physical activity. In addition, the participants will receive practical advice on breastfeeding, weaning and essential skills such as correctly fitting a car seat.

These evening sessions are to be overseen by community midwives and will take place alternatively between the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby and Scunthorpe General Hospital. The Matron at the Grimsby maternity unit, Vicki Booth, described the initiative as “a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.”
