Lincolnshire Resident and Rapper Digga D Faces Court Over Cannabis Earnings

Title: Rhys Herbert, Otherwise Known as Digga D, Faces Legal Proceedings Over Alleged Cannabis Profits

Lincolnshire resident and rapper Rhys Herbert, also known as Digga D, is preparing to be part of a court hearing to explore potentially unlawful earnings linked to cannabis. Herbert is currently serving out his sentence at HMP Brixton after being convicted of importing and selling 45kg of cannabis. The arrest took place during an Instagram Live broadcast in February of the previous year at his home in Bracebridge Heath, near Lincoln.

It was the Lincoln Crown Court that provided information about Herbert’s earnings from his musical endeavours, which reportedly exceed £3 million. He was scheduled to perform at various festivals in the summer of 2024. Presently, a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing is set to evaluate the potential financial advantages gained from his illegal actions and to recoup any related earnings.

During a preliminary hearing, legal aid was approved for Herbert, and the defence team, headed by Ryan Thompson, requested a postponement in order to substantiate the ownership of jewellery collected during the investigation. Judge Simon Hirst approved the delay until 9 January, asking for comprehensive details regarding any of Herbert’s monetary transactions during the time in question. Earlier this year, Herbert, who confessed to importing and supplying cannabis, was present at the hearing through a video link from prison.
