Ukrainian Teen Finds New Home and Academic Success in Lincoln

A 17-year-old Ukrainian refuge by the name of Timur, who had to escape from the war-plagued town of Odesa, has managed to fulfil his aspiration of securing admission to the University of Cambridge. After relocating to Lincoln in March 2022 to stay with his uncle, Timur joined Lincoln UTC where he pursued his love for mathematics and engineering. Despite the difficulties of adjusting to an unfamiliar nation and educational structure, he excelled in his studies, finishing his GCSEs ahead of his fellow students and subsequently progressing to study A-levels at Cambridge Maths School. His ceaseless hard work and dedication have proven worthwhile, as he gears up to study at the esteemed Trinity College.
