Gainsborough Tragedy: Woman Denies Murdering Ex-Partner in Shocking Knife Attack

In an ongoing case at Lincoln Crown Court, Stephanie McLaggan, a 38-year-old woman formerly residing on North Warren Road, Gainsborough, stands accused of the fatal stabbing of her ex-partner, Gillian Connelly, aged 44. Paul Cavin KC, the prosecutor, informed the jury that McLaggan unexpectedly attacked Connelly with a kitchen knife, causing a lethal chest wound. The court case made it known that Susan Wasley, a woman who had been in the company of McLaggan and Connelly earlier that evening, was an eyewitness to the violent incident. McLaggan, despite facing accusations of murder, rebuts the accusations, asserting instead that Wasley committed the crime. It was presented to the jury that McLaggan made an attempt to surrender herself at Lincoln South Park police station, however, she was initially denied.
