Greetings to all those who cherish Lincolnshire! The past week has been an incredible blend of energy and excitement, a vibrant panorama of the cultural diversity that makes Lincoln truly special. We’ve witnessed an impressive assortment of events that highlight the diverse appeal of our cherished Lincoln.
The week began with the remarkable Lincoln Run For All half marathon. Our streets were invigorated by the spirit and vitality of both competitors and onlookers. The picturesque circuit, which had its beginning and finish at the showground, guided participants by our admired cathedral, creating a truly memorable experience. The temporary road closures were a minor inconvenience when compared to the unity and enthusiasm the event brought to our community.
As the sun started to set, our historic monuments shimmered under the glow of impressive light displays. Lincoln Castle was converted into a symbol of festive warmth with its Christmas lights display, poised to dazzle everyone from late November until December. The Lincoln Cathedral, in a similar vein, illuminated in brilliant shades of red, yellow, green and blue in celebration of Lincolnshire Day, casting a spellbinding glow over our city.
Adding to the festive cheer, our eagerly anticipated Christmas Market is set to return, exuding more magic and allure than ever before. At the same time, the Spalding Pumpkin Festival is geared up to brighten the town with its harvest festivities, promising a day filled with happiness and family activities.
Marrying art and routine life in a unique fashion, Lincolnshire buses will soon become mobile art galleries, with a free photo exhibition at Temple Gardens. This creative programme offers a revitalising medium for artistic expression and interaction within our community.
So, whether you’re a health enthusiast, an aficionado of culture, or simply someone who savours a good festive display, it’s unmistakable that Lincoln is a city that accommodates everyone’s interests. Let’s look forward to another week of experiencing and appreciating the treasure that is Lincolnshire!
