Caistor Shop Loses Licence After Illegal Workers Discovered

A Caistor-based shop, one among the chain owned by Arumugam Kalamohan, has undergone a licence revocation consequent to a resolution made by the West Lindsey District Council. The choice to withdraw the license was prompted by recurrent instances of illegal workers at the said establishment, as identified by Lincolnshire Police. A specific allegation was put forth by one of such illegal workers, who reported being remunerated at £6 per hour.

Mr Kalamohan, the owner of fifty-two such outlets across the UK, has been previously linked with incidences of non-compliance, including events that unfolded in Grantham and Stamford. In spite of his legal team’s representation of the accused worker as a mere customer, this was disputed by solid police evidence, illustrating the alleged worker stationed behind the counter donned in shop-issued uniform.

Moreover, the store was found to be deficient in upholding license prerequisites pertaining to CCTV and employee training. Despite an assessment manifesting the store’s adherence to the UK labour laws at present, the panel deemed it indispensable to revoke the licence.
