Parts of Lincolnshire, incorporating areas such as Boston and Skegness, have been recognised as some of the regions most susceptible to flooding, according to recent findings by Friends of the Earth. The study suggests that there’s a potential risk of over 90% of homes in these towns to the dangers of flooding. In addition, the campaign group shed light on the fact that the constituency of South Holland and the Deepings has an alarmingly low level of tree cover, contributing further to its environmental vulnerabilities. These revelations come at a time when the government is readying itself to reveal its latest climate plan, which has resulted in calls for prompt investment in solid flood defences and restoration of nature, with the aim of safeguarding local communities.
