The Humber Forest project, spanning areas of North Lincolnshire, has set forth a 25-year plan focused on enhancing and preserving the community forest for forthcoming generations. Since the scheme began in 2020, it has successfully established 292 hectares of trees, an area comparable to 453 football pitches, throughout East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, boasting an impressive 65 miles (104km) of hedgerow. The project pledges its commitment to collaborate with local communities and landowners to boost tree coverage and safeguard existing woodlands. Humber Forest partnership manager, Leah Cave, expressed satisfaction with the progress thus far, highlighting the importance of planting the correct tree in the suitable location for the appropriate cause.
