In an extraordinary move, Humberside Police are extending an invitation to local folks to ‘nick’ a ride with their officers. This unique opportunity allows residents to witness, first-hand, the daily grit and grind faced by our local bobbies. Whether you’re the curious kind wanting to see how the coppers respond to emergency calls, or you’re keen on understanding their proactive patrol strategies, this is your golden ticket. Interested parties are invited to apply here. On receipt of your application, a friendly staff member from Humberside Police will be in touch to organise your ride. The force has, however, issued a gentle reminder – due to overwhelming interest, they’re limiting this experience to one ride per person per year, and it might take up to three months for your ride to be scheduled, though they are striving to expedite the process. If you’re a resident of Humberside and 18 or above, you’re eligible for this experience. A valid photo ID to prove your age and a clean criminal record are prerequisites. Existing criminal convictions don’t necessarily disqualify you, with each case considered individually. And fret not, if you’re under 18 and intrigued by the police force, you can always apply to be a police cadet.
