Following extensive discussion and receipt of 130 public comments, the majority of which expressed opposition to the proposal, plans for a new quarry in Caistor have now been given the go-ahead. The local community raised serious concerns over the possibility of an upturn in noise and dust pollution, factors which could harm both the local environment and the residents’ quality of life. In spite of these objections, the council has elected to proceed with the project, ensuring that measures will be in place to lessen these potential problems.
