A moving art installation, featuring a cascade of poppies and silhouettes of military figures, has been returned to Grantham Guildhall, serving as a touching focal point for the town’s Remembrance commemorations. This attention-grabbing display, which incorporates the work of local volunteers and design students from Grantham College, was first initiated by the South Kesteven District Council in 2023. The previous year saw the artwork temporarily shifted to St Wulfram’s Church due to maintenance work at the Guildhall. However, the installation has now been returned to its initial location. The piece of art not only showcases a World War One soldier but also silhouettes of a land girl, a Navy Wren, and a World War Two paratrooper, as a tribute to the varied contributions of those who served in the wars.
