A young lad from Louth, affectionately known by locals as ‘The Farmer’, is preparing to represent Team UK in the esteemed Grand Finals in Bahrain next month. The promising racer, Tom, is a 12-year-old who dreams of achieving Formula 1 glory. Tom manages to find a balance between assisting on his family’s farm and refining his kart-driving skills. He has already secured 70 trophies since he kick-started his career in kart racing at just eight years of age. Tom attributes his robust performances to a robust diet comprising steak, chips, and milk. His unique journey from tending to sheep to manoeuvring high-speed karts caught the eye of Strawberry Racing, who inducted Tom into the team in 2023 following an impressive performance at the PF International Circuit near Grantham. Tom’s parents, Sally and James, are excited about the opportunity to cheer him on during his ‘momentous journey’ to Bahrain, where he aspires to emulate his icon, Lando Norris. The Grand Finals are being held from 29 November to 6 December, and Tom can expect the unwavering support of his entire community as he competes for the top spot on the podium.
