A Week of Wins and Wonders in Lincolnshire

From blooming community gardens to the thrill of ride-alongs with Humberside’s finest, it’s been a week of camaraderie and community spirit in Lincolnshire. The Your Place Community Hub and Garden in East Marsh has been flourishing, providing a green oasis in Grimsby, while the Cleethorpes Community’s enthusiasm for a mural spotlighting the Red Arrows has been nothing short of heartwarming. In a wave of sweetness and goodwill, Lincolnshire residents have come together to generously donate Easter eggs to children in need. Meanwhile, local energy workers have been swinging their golf clubs for charity, raising funds for Andy’s Man Club. Every penny, every act of kindness, is making a difference in our community.Yet, amid the celebrations, there have been challenges. The axing of Marie Curie’s overnight care contract is a blow to Lincolnshire’s healthcare landscape, but we trust in the resilience of our community to find solutions. As we celebrate our victories, like the Men’s Shed securing a whopping £260k lottery windfall, we also embrace our innovative spirit. Grimsby’s charity has stirred up a sourdough sensation with a ‘bread-sitting’ service, and our very own Mayor has taken on a 24-hour rubbish roundup for charity, starting in Immingham and finishing in Grimsby. In an eye-catching bid to raise awareness, a giant inflatable bowel has been touring East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It’s a quirky yet crucial reminder of the importance of tackling health taboos. Indeed, it’s been a week of highs and lows, but as always, the people of Lincolnshire have shown remarkable spirit, resilience, and togetherness. Here’s to another week of making our community a vibrant place to live, work, and grow.
