Communities in Lincolnshire are joining together to commemorate the endeavours of the armed forces with a range of remembrance services and marches planned in various parts of the county. In Lincoln, a service is scheduled at Lincoln Cathedral, beginning at 10:40 GMT, which will incorporate a two-minute silence. The cathedral will also be bathed in red light in the evening symbolising remembrance and hope. Meanwhile, in Scunthorpe, a parade will be led by the mayor, Councillor Carol Ross, commencing at 10:25 from the Baths Hall, making its way to the cenotaph outside North Lincolnshire Museum. Parking is free in council car parks. Other noteworthy gatherings include a march in Boston at 10:45 at the war memorial in Wide Bargate, and in Grimsby, a service at Grimsby Minster at 09:30, to be followed by a procession to the cenotaph. Further services and marches paying respect to the champions of the past and present will be held in Gainsborough, Grantham, Cleethorpes, Horncastle, Immingham, Louth, Skegness, Spalding, and Stamford. Councillor Ross commented, ‘This Remembrance Sunday provides a moment for us all to unite in acknowledging our debt, expressing our gratitude, and standing together. I eagerly anticipate our community gathering in unity to honour and contemplate.’
