Lincoln Castle is set to become a staple in the summer music scene, with plans submitted to hold a series of concerts each summer until 2029. This exciting proposition is part of an ongoing collaboration between Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters, Cuffe and Taylor. In 2024, the castle played host to a parade of music royalty including Paloma Faith, Kaiser Chiefs, and Madness, and it is set to continue this tradition with The Stranglers, Buzzcocks and the Sugababes gracing the stage this summer. Officials have revealed that a four-year term planning permission would not only save a pretty penny but also offer more flexibility. Last year, the castle pulled in more than 28,000 music enthusiasts, a figure set to increase if the new planning application is approved. Kimberley Vickers, the castle’s general manager, commented that approval would allow them to host up to 14 concerts a year until 2029, though the decision to hold the concerts will be reviewed annually. The plans also involve the installation of temporary structures, such as a bar, and would allow for up to 14 concerts from May to July each year. Performers for 2025 are already creating a buzz, with Texas, Rag’n’Bone Man, UB40, Sting and The Human League on the line-up.
