Grimsby Residents Sentenced for Dog Mistreatment

Two Grimsby residents, Jack Lewis Elshaw and Chelsea Scott Owens, have been penalised for the neglect of a Doberman dubbed JJ. The unfortunate dog was discovered in appalling circumstances, fastened to a bathtub in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, following a grievance concerning its welfare received by the RSPCA. Elshaw and Owens admitted to neglecting JJ’s health problems and were punished in the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 30th October. Elshaw was bestowed a two-year community order, 140 hours of unpaid labour and a 15-day rehabilitation, whilst Owens was issued an 18-month community order, a penalty, and extra charges. The RSPCA characterised the case as incredibly disheartening and emphasised the significance of apt veterinary care for domestic animals.
