In a sombre turn of events, a woman was discovered deceased in her vehicle following a severe crash on a primary thoroughfare. The grim discovery was made by a local runner around 07:20 BST on Sunday. The vehicle, a blue Suzuki Swift, had veered off the A1 southbound at Wothorpe, in the vicinity of Peterborough. Despite the swift arrival and efforts of paramedics, the woman was declared dead at the scene. Cambridgeshire Police are currently working on the assumption that the accident occurred between Saturday evening and the early hours of Sunday.
