Marianne Overton Takes on Bid for Greater Lincolnshire Mayor

On the 1st of May, the inaugural mayoral election for the newly formed Greater Lincolnshire authority will take place, with Marianne Overton standing as a Lincolnshire Independent candidate. Overton, a county councillor residing at the heart of Lincolnshire, is dedicated to serving our communities and conserving our lands. As an Independent, Overton’s approach is guided by the voices of residents, focusing on fulfilling the right objectives, free from the constraints of party agenda. Her track record lends itself to her competence, consistently re-elected with overwhelming results, she tirelessly strives for improvements benefiting every corner of Greater Lincolnshire. With a career spanning over three decades, Overton has successfully championed Lincolnshire at both local and national levels, working with government to secure better funding for affordable homes and support for businesses and communities. As a national leader of Independents, she unifies people across party lines for genuine change, bringing financial resources and powers to our localities. Overton has also emphasised her dedication to promoting healthy lives. As vice-chairman of the primary care trust, she drove enhancements in mental health services and overall healthcare throughout Lincolnshire, ensuring the continuity of Grantham A&E. Overton pledges to secure funding and unite services for improved health and care. Furthermore, Overton vows to bring skills and well-compensated jobs to Lincolnshire. As a board member of the University of Lincoln, she aided in establishing the engineering department in collaboration with Siemens, creating jobs and bolstering local industry.
