In a charming nocturnal scene, CCTV cameras within Lincoln captured the unlikely sight of a fox and an otter exploring the city streets together. The duo’s adventure took place during the early hours around Brayford Pool and High Street, fueling curiosity and fascination among local residents.
Commenting on the recorded footage, City of Lincoln Council described the extraordinary interaction which appeared to indicate a burgeoning friendship between the pair. Notwithstanding this, the reason behind their night time excursion remains unexplained.
Steve Nichol, Chief Executive of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park located in Boston, voiced his surprise at the footage, labeling it as ‘strange’. He stressed the unusual nature of such an animal pairing, saying, “It’s incredibly odd. These animals are seldom seen hunting in the same territories. They would normally be in confrontation with each other, not roaming around retail areas. Sightings of a fox in a city centre are rare, but spotting an otter in a metropolitan area is even more so.”
