Tributes Pour In for 24-Year-Old ‘Bright Spark’ Lost in A15 Tragedy

Courtney Davies, a 24-year-old woman with a heart full of kindness, tragically lost her life in a fatal accident on the A15 at Bishop Norton. Courtney, originally from the USA, relocated to the UK with her family and quickly became a cherished member of the local community. She was educated at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Horncastle before earning her degree in Events Management at Sheffield Hallam University.

Courtney’s love for singing and her infectious laugh were well known in the community. She had a successful career as an events manager at Disneyland in Florida, where her sunny disposition brought joy to many. Her untimely demise in December 2020 has left a void in the lives of her family and friends, who remember her as a vibrant young woman who ‘lit up a room’.

The devastating incident was not the result of any recklessness on Courtney’s part. A lorry driver, who misjudged a manoeuvre on the narrow stretch of the A15, hit Courtney’s car among others. Sadly, Courtney was the only casualty that fateful night.

Courtney’s family is speaking out about their loss hoping to raise awareness about road safety. They stress that accidents can happen anytime, even without the involvement of alcohol or drugs, urging drivers to always prioritise safety.

The lorry driver, Anthony Alderson, has since pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. He has been banned from driving for three years and is under a six-month curfew from 7pm to 7am. He was also ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs by the Lincoln Magistrates Court. Alderson, now 67, has not driven a lorry since the accident and has retired.
