Lincoln Vicar Faces Church Inquiry Following Drink Driving Admission

Title: Lincoln Cleric Under Church Investigation Following Admittance of Drink Driving

A cleric residing in Lincoln is currently subject to an investigation by the Church of England due to a drink driving offence. The Reverend Sion Hughes-Carew, who is 40 years of age, confessed to the charges after an occurrence on Lincoln’s Vine Street in October. Following a hearing at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on 30 October where he pleaded guilty to exceeding the permitted alcohol limit, he was subsequently barred from driving for a period of two years. The Diocese of Lincoln has substantiated that Hughes-Carew is now undergoing a formal disciplinary proceeding, as required by the Clergy Discipline Measure.
