Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue is preparing to move to a more substantial facility in Grimsby’s Floral Hall, found in People’s Park. This move is in response to an unparalleled increase in demand for its services. Over the course of the previous year, the centre has experienced a 20% increase in admissions, thus outgrowing its existing location in Cleethorpes. The North East Lincolnshire Council has given the green light on leasing Floral Hall to the rescue centre. As a consequence of this move, the centre anticipates tripling its capacity. Michaela Jackson, who serves as a trustee and volunteer at the centre, underscored the necessity for additional space capable of accommodating a wider array of wildlife, such as deer. The soon-to-be location will include an aviary and, upon completion of renovations, some parts of the site will become accessible to the public. The centre, presently closed to new admissions, intends to resume its operations in January and is raising funds amounting to £10,000 to execute the renovation work. They are also currently seeking volunteers with trade skills to aid in the moving process.
