A local resident, sought by the police in relation to allegations of ‘attempted assault and affray’, is set to face the court today after being charged. The Humberside Police had launched an appeal over the weekend to locate 34-year-old Joshua Dempsey, linking him to an ongoing investigation into several offences, including an alleged assault and affray in Grimsby town centre on Saturday, 29th March. As confirmed by the police on Tuesday morning, charges have been formally lodged concerning the incident. According to the spokesperson, Dempsey, a resident of Convamore Road in Grimsby, is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, along with possession of a bladed article in a public place. Having been remanded into custody, Dempsey was scheduled to appear at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court on the morning of Tuesday, 8th April.
