Tragic A52 Collision Claims Young Life: Last-Moment Evasion Effort Futile

A horrifying crash on the A52 near Skegness claimed the life of Jordan Elizabeth Allen, a 23-year-old woman who had mere seconds to react to an oncoming car driving on the wrong side of the road. Whilst on route to Boston with her younger sister in their Dacia Sandero, they were brutally hit by a silver Ford Kuga, leading to Jordan’s untimely demise at the scene. The incident occurred on Monday, November 6, 2023, shortly before 4pm, with weather conditions and visibility reportedly clear at the time.

The offending vehicle initially hit a Toyota before colliding head-on with Jordan’s car, causing it to skid backwards into a nearby field. Emergency services were promptly on the scene, yet Jordan’s injuries were deemed ‘catastrophically incompatible with life’.

The Ford’s driver survived the crash and was taken to hospital for further examination. Having driven for over 50 years without incident, she expressed shock and remorse over the tragic event. Her claims of a possible medical episode and her known heart condition raised questions, yet no conclusive evidence to support these claims was found.

The inquest resumed on April 9, 2024, after an initial pause for potential criminal proceedings. Senior Coroner Paul Smith stated that Jordan had ‘practically no time whatsoever’ to avoid the collision and concluded her death to be a tragic consequence of a road traffic collision. This case serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life, leaving a void in the lives of those left behind.
