TransPennine Express (TPE) is set to make journeys for our furry friends more delightful in Grimsby and nearby regions. With the arrival of warmer climes, TPE has disclosed its plans to introduce new dog water stations across 11 stops, ensuring our four-legged companions remain well-hydrated on their travels. The stations set to benefit include Hull, Selby, Brough, Scarborough, Malton, Thirsk, Northallerton, Thornaby, Middlesbrough, Manchester Airport, and Grimsby. These facilities will be operational from Friday, April 11, aligning with National Pet Day celebrations. On this special occasion, a few lucky dogs at these stations will be treated to some delightful snacks. Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TPE, expressed his enthusiasm, stating that dogs are always welcome on their services and they strive to provide an enjoyable journey for all, including our four-legged companions. TPE’s initiative allows passengers to bring along a maximum of two dogs on board their trains, with the only conditions being that they must be kept on a leash throughout the journey and not be allowed to occupy seats or tables, for the comfort of fellow passengers. Assistance dogs for the visually and hearing impaired are also welcome on board.
