Unicorn Healthcare Services in Cleethorpes has received a ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), marking a significant improvement from its previous status under special measures. The CQC’s most recent review in November underscored that the care provider had learned from past mistakes and made sufficient headway.
The care provider, which provides services to individuals in their homes in North East Lincolnshire, was previously judged ‘inadequate’ in February due to unsafe medication administration practices and untrained staff. Unicorn Healthcare Services responded to these inadequacies by offering further training opportunities for staff and enhancing performance monitoring.
Highlights of the CQC’s recent report commended Unicorn Healthcare Services for safe staff recruitment practices and effective training measures. They also praised the timely nature of care calls and personalised care planning provided by the organisation. Service users also expressed their satisfaction, noting that they received prompt notice of any care call delays.
Unicorn Healthcare Services’ management has received favourable comments due to their quick response to concerns, which contributed significantly to the service being issued out from special measures.
