A spate of upsetting fly-tipping occurrences involving deceased animals has hit Grantham, triggering a probing investigation by the South Kesteven District Council. The body of a cat was one of the dreary discoveries on Wyville Road on the 2nd of December, and several bags housed a newborn puppy and a sizable bird at residential units on New Beacon Road on the 11th of November. Notably, an illegally poached or ensnared muntjac deer was found partly dismantled in bags near Barkston Heath Road. Councillor Rhys Baker registered his shock in response to these findings, emphasising the emotional distress provoked by such deeds in a country celebrated for its affection towards animals. Baker encouraged inhabitants to respond responsibly and with empathy if they unintentionally injure an animal. The council remains persistent in its pursuit of investigating these episodes, with the aim of bringing the perpetrators to justice.
