Tai Woffinden, a revered figure in the world of motorcycle speedway, is reportedly ‘on the mend’ following a severe crash during a race in Poland last month. The Scunthorpe-born racer, who made a name for himself at the British Speedway Championship Final in Manchester last June, was competing for his club Rzeszow when an unfortunate collision with a team-mate led to a series of injuries. Woffinden sustained multiple fractures and chest injuries necessitating a medically-induced coma. Taking to social media, he shared his arduous journey to recovery, stating, ‘Turns out my injuries and an induced coma ain’t no joke. I just need a little more time to rest.’ We all wish him a speedy recovery.
