Scunthorpe Off-Limits for Ex-Boyfriend After Decade-Long Ban for Stalking Former Partner

Jason Hemsworth, 33, formerly of Cleethorpes, has been prohibited from entering Scunthorpe for a decade following a persistent stalking campaign. Hemsworth continuously monitored and contacted his former partner, and even left unsolicited gifts for her. This behaviour followed an incident where Hemsworth was involved in a serious altercation with the victim, resulting in significant injuries. These activities led to his arrest.

Despite being released on bail with instructions to avoid the victim, his harassing behaviour persisted. This included leaving gifts on her vehicle and constantly contacting her, with some of his messages describing her physical appearance and daily activities. Hemsworth’s prior history includes non-compliance with non-molestation orders and charges of false imprisonment. He was arrested once more on 16th December.

The ordeal has taken a toll on the victim, who is now contemplating relocating for her personal safety. Upon his sentencing, Hemsworth showed remorse for his actions. He has been dealt a three and a half year prison term in addition to the Scunthorpe exclusion. The judge extended gratitude towards the victim for her bravery in court proceedings, offering her best wishes for her recovery and future.
