Every North East Lincs Child Scoops First-Choice Primary School Spot for September

In an unprecedented move, every child in North East Lincolnshire set to start primary school this September has been given their first-choice school. The news of this allocation success was revealed on National Offer Day, a day when parents and carers are informed about their child’s school placement. This year, a total of 1,354 applications were received, and remarkably, all were offered their first-preferred school. This means no local applicants will need to resort to an alternative or the next nearest school. Those who applied online via the Parent Portal received email notifications, while others received the good news through post. Councillor Margaret Cracknell, the portfolio holder for children and education at North East Lincolnshire Council, lauded this achievement and expressed her delight at the outcome. She went on to commend the admissions team for their hard work in making this possible. The School Admissions Team is on hand to provide impartial advice, with more information available on the Council’s website. Last year’s data shows a similar trend, with 99.36% of the 1,398 applicants receiving their first-choice school. Only 0.14% weren’t offered any of their preferred schools, showing a consistent commitment to meeting parents’ and carers’ preferences.
