Title: Scunthorpe Bikers Deliver Easter Cheer to Children’s Hospital Ward
In a touching demonstration of community solidarity, over 150 motorcyclists from the Scunny Bikers club zoomed into Scunthorpe General Hospital, armed with Easter eggs and gifts for children in the Disney ward. The bikers participated in their yearly Easter Egg Run, congregating at The Old Farmhouse pub, before heading to local supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Asda to gather hundreds of Easter surprises and toys.
The philanthropic event, which The Health Tree Foundation backs, featured the bikers distributing the gifts straight to the young patients, bringing joy to their faces. Event organiser Gavin Stubbs appreciated the community for their ample contributions, highlighting the happiness it instills in both the children and the bikers.
Local enterprises, including Jenny’s Café and surrounding pubs, also helped out for the event, offering not only Easter confections but essential items such as toiletries and even a table football set for the children’s outpatient ward. The Disney Ward Manager, Vikki McAlpine, remarked on the positive effect on the children, underlining how these contributions encourage their spirits during their Easter hospital stay.
