Trio Arrested Following Drug and Weapon Seizure in Lincoln

Three people have been arrested in Lincoln following reports of drug trafficking and the possession of dangerous weapons. Lincolnshire Police took swift action after being alerted by a conscientious local resident who had suspicions about a vehicle possibly being driven under the influence.

Police received the information at 9:18 am on Tuesday, 22 April, which led police staff to monitor the movements of the vehicle. After the vehicle stopped at a McDonald’s drive-through on Ruston Road, it was flagged down and searched on Burton Road.

During the inspection, police found a carrier bag containing several wraps of a substance thought to be a Class A drug in the car’s footwell. Creating even more concern was the discovery of a knuckleduster and machete in the vehicle.
To clarify for those unsure of the term, a knuckleduster is a metal object worn on the hand to strengthen the force of a punch, thus resulting in serious harm.

The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old woman, presented a negative breath test. However, she and her two male passengers, aged 35 and 20, were taken into custody under suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to distribute and possession of a dangerous weapon in public.

Having been apprehended, all three have since been released on bail while the investigation continues.
