Lincolnshire’s Household Earnings on a Gentle Rise – But Still Below UK Average

Title: Lincolnshire’s Household Earnings Show Slight Uptick, Yet Remain Below UK Average

Latest findings, released on the 27th of November, 2023, indicate a discernible, albeit modest, enhancement in the Gross Disposable Household Income (GDHI) for Lincolnshire for the year 2021. The data discloses that households in the county had a collective disposable income of £14.585 billion, which equates to £18,995 for each individual.

Despite the encouraging shift, Lincolnshire’s income per individual is still only 87.4% of the UK’s average. It’s a reminder that although we’re progressing towards the right direction, there still exists an expanding opportunity for advancement.

In comparison to the rest of the county, Boston and Lincoln are at the bottom of the scale with incomes of £17,318 and £15,693 per individual respectively, while North Kesteven leads the pack with £19,386 per individual, slowly closing the gap with the national average.

An overall increase, albeit gradual, may offer a semblance of respite to local families struggling with a rising cost of living. However, it’s paramount for policymakers to continue promoting economic growth in order to further stimulate our local economy.

As the county makes headway, it’s crucial to maintain a watchful eye on these figures. A more rapid escalation is required to ensure that the inhabitants of Lincolnshire obtain the same level of financial security as their counterparts throughout the UK.

Data contributing to these findings have been secured from the Lincolnshire County Council’s open datasets.
