Grimsby Welcomes Cutting-Edge Bone Scanners to Boost Health Services

Grimsby is preparing to bolster its health service provisions with the acquisition of two cutting-edge bone scanning machines that are aimed at early diagnoses of diseases, such as osteoporosis. The Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital and the yet-to-open Community Diagnostic Centre at Freshney Place will be the designated locations for these DEXA scanners. The introduction of these machines indicates a significant improvement in the town’s medical infrastructure. The scanner at the hospital will be tailored for the needs of the more vulnerable patients, and is a part of a nationwide scheme that includes the allocation of thirteen new units, underwritten by the government, across England. Wes Streeting, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, emphasised that this new equipment could facilitate an additional 30,000 scans every year, thus considerably fortifying diagnostic services nationally.
