Lincolnshire’s Scenic Coast Path Expansion: A Step Closer to World’s Longest

The latest section of the King Charles III England Coast Path is now open to visitors in Lincolnshire, extending 47 miles from Mablethorpe to the Humber Bridge. This expansion forms part of an ambitious 2,700-mile trail that circles around England, set to be the longest managed coastal path globally when finished. The initiative, led by Natural England in association with local councils and the Environment Agency, endeavours to deliver a unique coastal experience. James Marshall from Natural England emphasised the path’s distinction as a worldwide initiative, while senior officer Bruce Cutts highlighted the chance for the public to take pleasure in the coastal biodiversity. The trail, named after King Charles III, has been carefully designed to protect areas inhabited by sensitive species. Chris Miller from Lincolnshire County Council celebrated the potential of the path to promote health and wellbeing by bringing people closer to nature. Lincolnshire’s portion of the path is now 90% finished, with only minor sections near Gibraltar Point and Immingham Dock remaining.
