A long-term inhabitant of Ashley Court Residential Care Home in Lincoln has voiced concerns that the closure of the facility would completely dismantle the community they have formed. Jean, 66, who has resided in the care home for 26 years, is among the 15 residents currently in a state of precariousness, as housing provider Amplius has publicised the termination of its contract. However, it is making efforts towards procuring a replacement provider to prevent the residents from relocation. Jean, a dependent of the care home since her 30s due to an autoimmune disease, expressed that the news was both surprising and distressing. She voiced concern that residents may end up scattered to different locations among unfamiliar companions. Stuart, a fellow resident for 38 years, is also potentially facing disruption, a matter causing worry for his family. Amidst attempts to obtain a new service provider, Amplius has suspended its 90-day notification to Lincolnshire County Council (LCC). LCC, in collaboration with the Lincolnshire Care Association, is maintaining efforts to find potential solutions to keep the home functioning.
