Sleaford’s Unused Council Offices Face Potential Demolition

An application for the potential demolition of the disused council offices on Sleaford’s Lafford Terrace has been filed, due to their classification as a visual blight. These buildings were built between the 1960s and 1990s as extensions to the town’s historic headquarters, formerly the primary offices for the North Kesteven District Council. The original edifice, with a heritage status of Grade II, dates back to the Victorian Era in the 1850s when it was constructed as a series of terrace houses. The proposal from Lincolnshire County Council aims to dispose of the newer additions that are judged to contribute ‘little aesthetic value’ and, in some instances, detrimentally affect the historic components.
