Plans for the refurbishment of the changing rooms at Kent Street skate park in Grimsby have gained approval from the North East Lincolnshire Council. This represents a major advancement for YMCA Humber. The project incorporates a new multi-use hall for workshops, community events and mentorship programmes, in conjunction with new heating, lighting and electrical systems. Rob Baty, YMCA Humber’s head of operations, shared his excitement about the project, emphasising the significance of constructing a secure and user-friendly space for young people to participate in activities and develop their skills. The skate park, which YMCA Humber took over in 2023, had a £400,000 renovation last April. Plans are currently in progress to further augment the facility, which includes extending the youth club and overhauling the open-use tarmac MUGA.
