New AI Data Centre in North Lincolnshire Promises Thousands of Jobs

A revolutionary new data centre, located near the Elsham Wolds Industrial Estate in North Lincolnshire, is reportedly to generate up to 1,000 job opportunities which has potential to significantly uplift the local economy. The ambitious project which spreads over a sprawling 435 acres of agricultural fields, is anticipated to consist of up to 15 separate data centre buildings. This innovative technology, known as ‘AI data centre campus’, is predicted to annually support between 2,600 and 3,600 job roles throughout its expected ten-year construction phase.

In addition to the data centres, the plan includes the development of a greenhouse complex which will capitalise on waste heat to cultivate agricultural produce. Experts estimate this could yield up to 4,728 tonnes of tomatoes annually sustaining 64 jobs. The venture is set to offer additional facilities including a creche, a cafe, a gymnasium and a small shop, facilitating multiple amenities for employees and the local community.

The North Lincolnshire Council has previously green-lighted a colossal £2.2bn data centre near South Killingholme last year, further evidence of the region becoming a major player in tech and data innovation. Residents interested in voicing their viewpoints regarding the development plan in Elsham Wolds can submit their comments until 26th of June.
