In a school close to Stamford, Lincolnshire, a dire situation unfolded when a student, identified as Benedict Blythe, suddenly fell into an allergic reaction-induced collapse. The alarming occurrence happened at Barnack Primary School in the latter part of 2021, specifically December. Benedict, whose medical history includes both asthma and multiple allergies, was treated as an emergency, with the administration of an adrenaline auto-injector and CPR. Sadly, Benedict was unable to recover, passing away due to food-induced anaphylaxis. Head teacher Amy Jones was prompt to share her account of the incident at an inquest that was held at Peterborough Town Hall, describing every immediate action taken by the trained paediatric first aid staff.
