Title: Barton Bike Night Sees Thousands of Motorbikes Invade the Streets
The charming town of Barton-upon-Humber bore witness to its annual bike night spectacle recently. A tradition spanning almost three decades, the Wednesday night extravaganza drew in a diverse crowd all keen to marvel at an array of motorbikes, from retro throwbacks to modern masterpieces. Among the spectacle was a unique Skylab motorcycle taxi, originally from Thailand and still operated by its 75-year-old owner, Sandra Burton, in spite of its challenging ride quality. The event also showcased a range of carnival rides, food outlets and street vendors. Entirely orchestrated by volunteer hands and underpinned by local businesses’ involvement, Barton Bike Night has been part and parcel of the town’s summer events since its inception in 1997.
