Power couple Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton are set to paint the town red as they embark on a nationwide tour for the spine-chilling play, ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’. This will mark the duo’s first joint venture since lighting up the dance floor together on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2018. Our lad from Grimsby, Clifton, remarked that it is a different ball game now, as they have come to know each other ‘properly as people’. Meanwhile, Dooley, 38, confessed to feeling slightly out of her depth as she steps into the ‘unknown territory’ of working alongside her partner. The intrepid journalist made her stage debut last year in a West End production of the same supernatural thriller. She admitted to initial apprehension but quickly became smitten with the stage. The couple, bonded since 2019, plan to bring their two-year-old daughter Minnie along for the ride. A family member will be on babysitting duty while the parents command the stage. The haunting journey of ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ kicks off at Manchester Opera House in August, with stops at iconic venues such as Bristol’s Hippodrome, Glasgow’s King’s Theatre, and the Sunderland Empire. Dooley and Clifton will portray a married couple wrestling with the possibility of a ghostly presence in their home. Clifton, a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ veteran from 2013 to 2019, has since flaunted his talents in the likes of ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’, ‘Dirty Dancing The Musical’, and ‘Singin In The Rain’. Dooley has recently been in the spotlight for her hard-hitting BBC programme ‘Rape On Trial’ and also fronted documentaries ‘Stacey Dooley: Locked Up With The Lifers’, and ‘Stacey Dooley: Stalkers’.
