In an unfortunate turn of events, the much-anticipated film ‘Angels in the Asylum’, featuring Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver, has hit a stumbling block. The Lincolnshire-based production, which details the harrowing tale of women incarcerated for being typhoid carriers, has been put on ice due to a sudden financial shortfall. A team of 70 had their sights set on capturing crucial scenes in Louth this February. However, the cash crunch has dealt a devastating blow to the co-producers, Rob Sorrenti and Heather Greenwood. After toiling for 15 years to bring the project to fruition, they were compelled to abort filming when their second round of financing fell through. The abrupt halt in production has left the movie’s future hanging in the balance.
