Get ready to rock, Lincoln! A proposal has been tabled to keep the summer concerts at Lincoln Castle going until 2029. This ambitious plan, however, will be put under the microscope each year. The scheme, a collaboration between Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor, promises headlining acts like Olly Murs, Human League and UB40 at our iconic local landmark. The proposal outlines a six-week period each year from 2025 to 2029, during which the castle grounds would be transformed with temporary structures including a bar and front-of-house facilities. Up to 14 concerts would be held, with an additional six days allocated for setting up and packing down. But before you start planning your summer outings for the next eight years, Lincoln Castle’s management has emphasised that this doesn’t mean the concerts are a done deal for the whole term. The decision to host them will be evaluated annually. Despite this, securing planning permission for a longer term, rather than applying each year, will provide greater flexibility and cost efficiency. Prepare for the summer tunes to begin on June 7, with a lineup that includes The Stranglers, James, Texas, Rag N Bone Man, the Sugababes, UB40, Sting, Olly Murs, The Human League, and Simple Minds.
